The debut CD of The 21st Century Band was released in June of 2010 and stands different to others. It is a fusion of African, American, Caribbean and Latin, music which reflex the diverse cultural background of its members. They have impacted the Jazz scene and should be around for years to come.

The bands musicianship was surely exemplified throughout this CD. They display high levels of confidence and togetherness. Dion played his drums with so much passion and love that it resonate to your soul. Alioune spoke to you with his djembe drum making you want to dance to the African rhythm.

Victor captures your attention with the beautiful harmony of the steel pan. Reuben played the bass with a steady beat and opened your mind to the unknown. Ron played the sax in such an inviting way giving you the feeling of being sensual. Reginald, Carlton, Terell and Baba played with such renaissance that emphasizes and rekindle the magic that was once lost.

As the music enters your mind, dives to the core and touched your soul, the true nature of your emotions exploded inside and revealed only to you the meaning of your existence. The spiritual revelation begins to guide you through as the cultural remembrance resurfaces and the music mesmerizes your intimate thoughts.

It is evident that something very special is in the works from the opening track '21st Century, the band literally kicks off the CD with a taste of the Caribbean sounds and closing with Tom Blake, father of Ron Blake who tribute the song to him.

I highly recommend this CD to all Jazz enthusiast and music lovers in general.
